This year we desire to keep going, keep moving forward towards the good works God has prepared for those who move by faith and not by sight. Abraham was counted as the father of faith because he believed God, and started moving in faith.
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. He is the Good News!
– Romans 10:17
Only through our faith being centered in Jesus Christ can we live with an anticipation of our inheritance. What we believe about our future will shape how we live today. It is not the size of our faith that matters but the object of our faith, namely Jesus Christ. If we believe without a doubt that Jesus is exactly who He says He is, we will live in the fullness of our newfound identity and purpose in Christ.
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
– Matthew 17:20
In this scripture, Jesus highlights the necessity of simplicity of faith. The words “unbelieving generation” in verse 17 indicates the weakness within our human nature. It shows how easily we fall into the trap of trusting in our own strength and ability instead of placing our trust in God’s faithfulness, power, and promises.
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
– Hebrews 11:6
Derek Prince wrote, “Knowledge puts the key in your hand, but it’s faith that turns the key in the lock and opens up the treasure house of God’s riches in Christ.”
Let us continue to walk by faith and in rhythm with the Holy Spirit.
